Postgraduate Diploma in Community Health Education

The Postgraduate Diploma in Community Health Education at Iconic University is a 2-semester programme designed to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of community health issues and the skills needed to implement sustainable health education programmes. We believe that promoting community health is essential for achieving overall well-being and reducing health disparities. Through this programme, students will learn about the social determinants of health, behavioural change theories, and community health assessment techniques. Our curriculum encompasses a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical skills, enabling students to become effective advocates for promoting health at the community level.

  1. To provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the social determinants of health and their impact on community health outcomes.
  2. To equip students with the skills to assess community health needs and develop appropriate health education programmes.
  3. To develop students’ knowledge of behavioural change theories and their application in promoting healthy behaviors within communities.
  4. To foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills in addressing complex community health issues.
  5. To prepare students to become effective leaders and advocates for promoting community health and reducing health disparities.

To be admitted for the programme, candidate must have 5 O’Level credit passes in WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, GCE, or its equivalent that should include English and Mathematics;

  1. CHO/Higher National Diploma (HND) in science or health related programme from recognized Polytechnic with a minimum of lower credit/merit.
  2. Holders of degree in science or health related programme from a recognized University with a minimum of pass degree/third class.
  3. NYSC certificate (discharge, exemption or exclusion) for Nigerian candidates.

Iconic University charges modest fees that give learners the chance to pay per semester only. Nigerian candidates seeking admission will pay an application fee of N15,000 and $40 would be paid by international applicants.
