Programme Overview

B.Sc. Estate Management is the art and science of supervising the use, development and management of landed property, other natural resources, the built environment, and the valuation of all interests subsisting therein. The programme is designed to produce graduates who can appreciate the complexity of legal, economic, technological, social and environmental factors, on the use, development and management of landed property assets. The programme provides students a unique opportunity to develop an understanding of the breadth and depth of property investment markets. This knowledge is tailored to align with emerging global trends, technological advancement and environmental concerns, which calls for responsive programmes for future training in Estate Management and valuation.

Philosophy
The bachelor’s degree in Estate Management prepares students for responsible career positions in both public and private sectors that address the demands of complex legal, socio-economic and socio-political issues associated with land value, property investments, land use, land administration and land management. This calls for graduates with considerable understanding and in-depth knowledge of the theoretical base surround these concepts and broad-based knowledge of the techniques and practices of property valuation, building construction, land surveying, urban and regional planning, land law, land economics, land use and property development and Project management skills.

Programme Objectives

Specific objectives are to:
i. inculcate in students an appreciation of the complex nature of the relationships between man, his natural and built environment;
ii. involve the students in an intellectually stimulating and satisfying experience of learning and studying at the tertiary level;
iii. provide students with a broad and balanced foundation of the knowledge institutional framework surrounding land use;
iv. develop in students the ability to apply analytical skills in developing solutions to theoretical and practical property and land investment problems;
v. instil in students entrepreneurial and managerial skills required for self-employment in the profession.

Admission Requirements

Entry Criteria

Admission into Iconic University for bachelor’s degree does not require JAMB result, but candidates will be asked to get a JAMB regularisation number upon successful admission in order to be used for his/her NYSC at the time of graduation.

100 Level (Freshman)

Five (5) credit passes in WAEC, NECO, NBAIS, or similar bodies as recognised. The credit passes must include English Language and Mathematics, with any other three (3) from Economics, Financial Accounting, Marketing, Commerce, Government, Geography, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Agricultural Science and Technical Drawing at not more than two sittings.
Five (5) merits in NABTEB or Teachers Grade Two examinations in Management or Social Science subjects. Also, the credit passes must include English Language, and Mathematics.

200 Level (Sophomores)

The Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) with a merit pass in English Language in addition to a credit pass in Economics/Accounting/Business Admin/Public Admin.
National Diploma (ND) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business Admin/Accounting/Banking and Finance/Insurance/Taxation/Actuarial Science from reputable institutions with a minimum of Lower Credit.
GCE Advance level with at least two credit passes.
OND with evidence of proficiency in Accounting/Banking and Finance.
Certificate in Business Admin or the equivalent from a recognised university in addition to three O’ Level papers in Management or Social Sciences, including credit pass in English Language, and Mathematics.
First degree (B.Sc.) in Taxation, Accounting, Public Admin, Entrepreneurship, Urban and Regional Planning, Architecture, Economics or any other related.

Note: Only certificates recognized by the Senate of Iconic University will be granted admissions.

Programme Fees

Tuition and payment

Iconic University charges modest fees that give learners the chance to pay per semester only. Nigerian candidates seeking admission will pay an application fee of N10,000 and $30 would be paid by international applicants.

Semester Fees:

Semester Fees are charged based on the human development index (HDI) of country of residence.

01Nigerians living in Nigeria only: N85,000 (payment of practical/practicum/SIWES/project courses or hardcopy course materials is exclusive)
02Anyone living in Very High Development Countries (International Students): $500 or equivalent
03Anyone living in High Development Countries (International Students): $400 or equivalent
04Anyone living in Medium Development Countries (International Students): $350 or equivalent
05Anyone living in Low Development Countries (International Students): $300 or equivalent
06Anyone living in “other countries” (International Students): $250 or equivalent
