B.Sc. Computer and Information Technology is a 400–level undergraduate programme that focuses on the study of hardware, software, and networks. It provides an in–depth understanding of the use of computers and other information technology systems in the context of businesses, organizations, and society. The programme also provides skills related to problem–solving, communication, design, and implementation of computer–based systems. Coursework includes topics such as computer programming, software engineering, databases, operating systems, networking, and web design. Additionally, students gain knowledge in the fields of artificial intelligence, data structures, algorithms, and computer graphics. Programme Objectives

The objectives of the Bachelor of Science in Computer & Information Technology Programme are to:

Provide students with a broad and balanced foundation of Information Technology knowledge and practical skills;
Equip students with the necessary professional skills to practice as successful IT professionals and compete effectively in a world of rapid technological change;
Develop in students a range of transferable skills of Information Technology in all aspects of human endeavour;
Develop students for the purpose of self-employment and job placement in the government and industries serving the needs of the local and global community; and
Develop skills for career development and life-long learning.

Admission Requirements

Entry Criteria

Admission into Iconic University for bachelor’s degree does not require JAMB result, but candidates will be asked to get a JAMB regularisation number upon successful admission in order to be used for his/her NYSC at the time of graduation.

100 Level (Freshman)

Five (5) credit passes in WAEC, NECO, NBAIS, or similar bodies as recognized. The credit passes must include English Language, Mathematics and Physics, at not more than two sittings.
Five (5) merits in NABTEB or Teachers Grade Two examinations in Science subjects. Also, the credit passes must include English Language, Mathematics and Physics.

200 Level (Sophomores)

The Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) with a merit pass in English Language in addition to a credit pass in Mathematics/Computer/Physics/Biology/Chemistry.
National Diploma (ND) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Physics/Computer/Mathematics/Statistics/Information Technology/Software Engineering/Data Science/Artificial Intelligence from reputable institutions with a minimum of Lower Credit.
GCE Advance level with at least two credit passes.
OND with evidence of proficiency in Physics/Computer Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Information Technology/Software Engineering/Data Science/Artificial Intelligence.
Certificate in Information Technology/Computer Science or the equivalent from a recognised university in addition to three O’ Level papers in Sciences, including credit pass in English Language, and Mathematics.
First degree (B.Sc.) in Physics, Computer Science, Chemistry or Biology.

Note: Only certificates recognized by the Senate of Iconic University will be granted admissions.

Programme Fees

Tuition and payment

Iconic University charges modest fees that gives learner the opportunity to pay registration fee per semester only. Nigerian candidates who living in Nigeria and are seeking for admission will pay an application fee of N10,000 only, other International candidates as well as Nigerians in diaspora will pay $30 equivalent rate to the currency of the country they live.

Semester Fees:

Semester Fees for students living outside Nigeria are charged based on the human development index (HDI) of country of residence.

Fees are categorised into:

01Nigerians living in Nigeria only: N135,000 (payment of practical/practicum/SIWES/project courses or hardcopy course materials is exclusive)
02Anyone living in Very High Development Countries (International Students): $750 or equivalent
03Anyone living in High Development Countries (International Students): $600 or equivalent
04Anyone living in Medium Development Countries (International Students): $500 or equivalent
05Anyone living in Low Development Countries (International Students): $400 or equivalent
06Anyone living in “other countries” (International Students): $350 or equivalent
