We are delighted to welcome you to our department. Our department is committed to providing high quality education and training in computer and information technology.

Our aim is to equip our students with the knowledge and skills required to succeed in the IT industry. We offer a wide range of courses that cover the fundamentals of computing and the latest trends in technology.

We also provide our students with the opportunity to pursue their passion in specific areas of IT such as software engineering, cyber security, artificial intelligence, data science and more. We have highly experienced faculty members who are committed to providing the best quality of education to our students.

Our faculty members are experts in their respective fields and are well–equipped to guide our students in the right direction. We also have a state–of–the–art computing infrastructure that allows our students to access the latest technologies.

About this department

The Department of Information Technology & Software Engineering at Iconic Open University is a forward-thinking academic unit dedicated to producing highly skilled IT professionals, software developers, and technology innovators through flexible, technology-driven learning. As part of the Faculty of Computing Sciences, the Department offers programmes including the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Information Technology, Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Software Engineering, as well as postgraduate programmes such as the Postgraduate Diploma in Informatioon Technology and Master of Information Technology (MIT) with specializations, designed to equip students with the technical expertise, programming proficiency, and systems development competencies required to design, build, deploy, and manage robust software solutions and IT infrastructures across diverse industries.

The Department is committed to producing competent IT managers, software engineers, systems architects, database administrators, and cybersecurity specialists through innovative teaching, cutting-edge research, and hands-on practical training, with a focus on transforming lives through technology and driving digital transformation, innovation, and economic growth. In line with the university’s open distance and e-learning model, the Department ensures students receive rigorous, industry-relevant training while balancing their studies with professional and personal commitments.
