The Department of Criminology and Security Studies at Iconic Open University is a specialized academic unit dedicated to producing skilled professionals capable of addressing complex crime, justice, and security challenges through flexible, technology-driven learning. As part of the Faculty of Management, Social, & Media Sciences, the Department offers the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Criminology and Security Studies at the undergraduate level, designed to equip students with in-depth knowledge of crime prevention, investigation, criminal justice, and analytical problem-solving skills.
At the postgraduate level, the Department offers the Master of Security Studies (MSS) with specializations including Policing and Law Enforcement, Intelligence Studies, Cyber Criminology and Forensic Investigation, Financial Crime Investigation and Prevention, Aviation Security, Migration and Border Security, and other related fields. The Department is committed to producing competent criminologists, security analysts, intelligence officers, and law enforcement professionals through innovative teaching, cutting-edge research, and practical training, with a focus on transforming lives through technology and strengthening national security frameworks.
