Roles and responsibilities
The Board of Trustees is the supreme authority of the university. The Proprietor(s)/Founder(s) of Iconic University appoints members of the Board of Trustees, which is made up of eminent persons. The Board is divorced from the day-to-day administration of the university to ensure academic freedom and to encourage resourcefulness of the university management. The Board represents the university in all matters relating to ownership, which include, among other things, incorporation, acquisition, alienation and use of property of the university. It promulgates the basic statutes that will underpin the structure, institutions and mode of governance of the university under the auspices of the Governing Council. The Board of Trustees is essentially responsible for the overall policy direction and financing of the university and is headed by a chairman.
